The New Music Business Today

It is easier to get into the music business today with the rise of the internet, all the main functions of a record label can be done by yourself, distribution, marketing& promotion, music videos, and you can have a high quality recording with less than $2000 all done from the comfort of your own home, a music business unto yourself, no need for major labels these days, those big executives taking all the money and leaving the artist with nothing.

The music business of today consists of people like me and you, normal people that really love making good music and getting paid for it, now that wasn’t possible five years ago, the internet has opened the door for everyone to be an artist and a label for themselves, you can put out a song in seconds that’s how fast it is.

The new music business is still in its infancy, but its going to get bigger and bigger and the more get use to it the better world when democratize music, because there are no gate keepers to the music industry anymore, no one to say yes or no, the music industry is in our hands.
