Charlotte Dennett Will Prosecute Bush If Elected

Charlotte Dennett, a candidate for Vermont Attorney General, said that, if elected, she will prosecute president George W. Bush for murder.

Charlotte Dennett, 61, has a history of support from liberal-leaning Vermonters. The state Senate adopted a resolution for Congress to impeach President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney in 2007, Vermont towns have voted to indict the two for the Iraq War and town meetings across the state have called for his impeachment. 

Dennett also has her detractors, like the current five-term incumbent Attorney General, William Sorrell. "The reality is, in my view, that unless the crime takes place in Vermont, that I as the attorney general have not authority under Vermont law to be prosecuting the president," he said.

Charlotte Dennett already has a special prosecutor picked out for her case against George W. Bush. Vincent Bugliosi is a former Los Angeles attorney and the author of "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder." Bugliosi said any state could prosecute Bush for recruiting soldiers in their state and allegedly lying about the threat posed by the Saddam Hussein Iraqi government in speeches aired in their state.

Vermont voters will be able to cast their vote for Dennett on November 4.
