Congress urges CM to implement Sher-e-Kashmir employment scheme in J&K



Jammu, January 22 (Scoop News) – Member AICC, MLC and Senior Congress Leader Abdul Gani Vakil today urged Omar Abdullah Government to keep its promise of creating fifty thousand jobs so that the educated youth gets accommodated. This will help in the process of normalization of conditions in the State and will contribute in channelizing the younger generation to play constructive role in normalization of peace and prosperity in the State.


 


Vakil was addressing a  convention of Indian National Trade Union Congress at Jammu.


 


Vakil while addressing the gathering commended the Government for providing chances of employment in police force of the State but he said that such recruitment should not be restricted to certain spots and places. It is needed all over and should be made block wise in a systematic manner. He expressed concern that Sheri Kashmir employment Scheme has not been implemented till today. Although Chief Minister is


serious about its implementation but nothing is being done on the soil. He demanded immediate attention of the Chief Minister towards its implementation in letter and spirit as soon as possible.


 


He  impressed upon the State Government that they should attend the problems of the employees expeditionally, saying that the employees have worked in harsh circumstances and turmoil, so deserving attention of the Government to address their demands. Appreciating the role of employees, he asked them to reciprocate by helping the system and to abstain from strikes and hartals which only multiply the miseries of people.


 


    Besides others, convention was addressed by MLC Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, General Secretary INTUC Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ex. Minister Chowdhary Gharu Ram, General Secretary PCC Vinod Sharma, Chief J&K Seva Dal Congress Balwinder ISngh Sambyal and many others.
