Indicted County Legislator Roger Corbin Seeks Reelection

 Nassau County, New York county legislator Roger Corbin (Democrat, Westbury) has been indicted on federal charges of lying to federal agents and tax evasion relating to his deposits of 81 checks from a developer in the New Cassel Revitalization Project, which project Corbin championed. See my article, "Urban Renewal Schemer Arrested Over Checks From Developer." 

Nonetheless, Corbin will seek reelection.  The Nassau County Democratic organization neither designated nor rejected him, leading to an open primary.  Candidates will need to gather signatures from enrolled Democrats to qualify for the September 15 primary.  -30-
