J&K Ministerial team reviews law & order situation,Appeals people for calm
The Ministers directed the officers to ensure that people are rendered relief to the maximum. They directed that facilities of ration, electricity, water, health and irrigation are extended to them without a fail.
The officers of CA&PD were directed to ensure that consumers are given 40 Kg of rice and 10 Kg of atta as already directed by the Chief Minister.
The PDD Department in both the districts was instructed to ensure uninterrupted supply of power during Sehri and Iftar during the coming month of Ramzan.
Taj directed the PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments to restore, on war footing, the water supply lines and irrigation canals damaged during the recent floods in these areas. Also the Irrigation and Flood Control Department was directed to arrange adequate sand bags for flood protection in view of the present climatic condition.
The Departments of Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture were directed to make assessment of losses to crops and submit a report to the Government immediately.
The Ministers directed the Deputy Commissioners of the two districts to ensure availability of officers and staff at their headquarters or places of duty and initiate disciplinary action against the non compliant employees. If was further impressed upon that those officers who are unable to reach the duty should report to the respective Deputy Commissioners for instructions and stay connected with their subordinate staff over mobile phones.
The Ministers appealed people for calm and cooperation with the Government in restoring peace. They also appealed people to ensure safety of public property and not let the anti social elements destroy it.
Earlier, the ministers visited the shrine of Nanga Baji (RA) at Malangam and paid obeisance. They also addressed a public meeting there.
