Pakistani lawyers to observe strike on jan 28

LAHORE: President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Qazi Anwar announced that the lawyers will observe strike on the 28th of January, they would boycott court proceedings all over Pakistan.

Qazi Anwar briefed the media about the decision to observe strike due to delay on implementation of apex court judgement related to NRO, by the government.

He urged the government to act upon the detailed verdict by the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) that was issued by a military dictator, Pervez Musharraf, that has been rejected by the highest court of Pakistan recently.

He also demanded of the government to fufill its constitutional responsibilties and it has violated the constitution , not appointing Justice Saqib Nisar as judge in the apex court.

The lawyers are not in favor of any confrontation among the institutions and military interference, he added.
