Explosions Rock China's Xinjiang Region

The official Xinhua News Agency reported that a county in a restive Muslim region of western China was rocked by several explosions that occurred Sunday in Kuqa County in the Xinjiang region. The explosions have not caused any casualties, reported the Agency.

The witnesses were reported to have said that they heard gun shots and saw flashes of fire following the explosions. On seeing such a dangerous scene, they had to run to and fro to save their lives.

Xinhua further reported that the local military sources had confirmed the incident and forces to the area of explosions have been sent.

Xinhua also said the attackers had wounded sixteen border police and killed fifteen others on Monday in the Xinjiang city of Kashgar while they smashed a stolen truck into the group right before hurling homemade bombs.
