Scott Seskin Wins Mayoral Election; Democrats control Village government
By our count, Scott Seskin has won 745 to 671. The Board of Election web site shows Scott winning 739 to 671, with all election districts reporting and no absentee ballots counted yet.
As usual, we will have to wait for the official results, but it appears that Scott has won! The vote totals for our trustee candidates on the web site appear to be incorrect. Thank you, this was another great team effort!
Writes Randy Klipstein, Chairman, Dobbs Ferry Democratic Committee on November 7, 2007
As of this afternoon, the Board of Elections has Scott Seskin ahead of Allegra Dengler by 66 votes. The Rivertowns Enterprise is reporting that Mrs. Dengler has conceded. Mayor Bova (Dobbs Ferry Party) in his 'occasional' email writes that the new and returning Village officials, Scott Seskin (Democrat), Theresa Walsh (Democrat) , Paula Dambroff (Democrat) and Fred Broda (a Republican supported by the Democratic Committee) will be sworn in on December 3rd.
This election marks a complete reversal in party control of the Village government from the independent Dobbs Ferry Party to the Democratic Party. Three years ago all seven elected Village officials were affiliated with the Dobbs Ferry Party versus today with all seven now affiliated with the Democrats. Credit for this amazing reversal of fortunes goes to the leadership, district leaders, membership and loyal supporters of the Dobbs Ferry Democratic Committee and the outstanding candidates that it has recruited and supported during the last three elections. Special commendation goes to Randy Klipstein and Joy Haber Lavietes for their tireless efforts.
