Second Phase Assembly Election in Karnataka
16th May, Bangalore: Second phase of assembly elections take place for 66 constituencies of Karnataka State Assembly today. About 110 millions people of 10 districts cast their vote today. The districts where the polling held are Raichur, Koppal, Uttar Kanada, Bellary, Chitradurga Devanagere,Shimoga,Udupi Chikmangalur and Dakshin Kanada. 590 candidates are contesting for the elections among them 218 candidates are contesting as an independent candidate.
Former chief minister S Bangarappa’s two sons Kumar Bangarappa of congress and Madhu Bangarappa of BJP are contesting against each other for the seat of Shorab in Shimoga district of Karnataka.
In another Contest Vasant Bangera of congress is contesting against his brother Prabhakar Bangera of BJP for Bethangady constituency of Uttara Kannada.
This phase of election also determine the fate of two former chief ministers of Karnataka
S Bangarappa and B S Yeddyurappa who are contesting against each other for Shikaripur Constituency of Shimoga district.
