Terrorist attacks pound Peshawar city



Peshawar, N.W.F.P: 2 bomb explosions in Peshawar city paralyzed the city-dwellers today.


 


2 different bomb explosions in a very congested part of old city of Peshawar in north western part of Pakistan, killed 6, injured some 100 people.


 


The famous Qissa Khwani bazaar (Story Tellers bazaar) was rocked by 2 different bomb explosions that were IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device), according to media reports.


 


The suspect terrorists, after the explosions, took shelter in a house when after the security forces operation 2 were killed and rest of 2 arrested.


 


The Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, condemned the attacks in Peshawar and said the Taliban in Swat and other areas are frustrated because they are losing ground because of successful military operation so now they are targeting the innocent people now.


 


The injured were rushed to nearby Lady Reading Hospital and after the explosions the emergency was declared in all the hospitals of Peshawar.


 


In another attack on a Police checkpoint out of Peshawar city, suicide bomber blew himself up and killed one security man and injured several.


 


A hard day for the city of Peshawar when Pakistanis were celebrating the anniversary of nuclear tests of 28 May 1998.


 


The terrorists have started targeting the civilians after the defeat in Swat valley by the Pakistani security forces.


 


On the other hand, the Pakistan army has cleared most of the area from Taliban in Mingora city, according to media reports.
