Karachi, Pakistan: The chief minister, N.W.F.P, Amir Haider Hoti and the head of the ruling provincial party, Awami National Party (ANP), Asfand Yar Wali Khan were speaking to a press briefing here.

The chief minister said that the people who are criticizing the Swat-accord, they do not want peace in Pakistan.

We signed the accord just to bring peace in Swat valley that was under insurgency for more than 2 years.

On the other hand, the ANP chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan said, neither we can kill our own people nor fight.

Because of Swat valley we were going towards a very dangerous situation and we tried to achieve peace.

The Chief Minister said the Nizam-e-Adl is confined to the judicial system and it is passed by the Parliament.

The Qazis (judges) are appointed neither by the provincial government nor by the head of the movement Maulana Sufi Muhammad.

Besides that, peace has been restored in different parts of Swat valley, markets, schools are open and the bazaars are open at night, and there are hopes that the tourism will get back to the valley soon, according to media reports.

The valley of Swat had been under curfew for some 18 months and that has paralyzed the life in the beautiful valley.
