U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq Now Over 4,000

US military deaths in Iraq has reached over 4,000 with over 30,000 injured casualties since the outbreak of the war in 2003. The United States leads other coalition member countries in terms of casualties with Britain registering second with close to 200
More than 4,000 American soldiers had died in Iraq since the war started about six years ago. Britain reported 179 deaths followed by Italy with 33, Poland, 21; Ukraine 18; Bulgaria, 13; Spain,11; Denmark, seven; El Salvador, 5; Slovakia, 4; Latvia and Georgia, three each, according to Yahoo news.
Since the start of US military operations in Iraq, 31,089 US service members have been wounded in hostile action, according to Defense department’s weekly tally, the report added.
Currently there are approximately 150 thousand troops that are actively participating in the Iraq war.
Former President Bush have been widely criticized for placing the lives of so many American soldiers on the line for a war that the American people think as unnecessary and a waste of American taxpayers money. The Bush administration’s claim that Iraq had a huge stockpile of weapons of mass destruction has never been proven.
US President Obama is expected to announce the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq in a few days. The long-awaited troop’s withdrawal will start as early as August of next year according to a senior White House spokesman.
