Australian team had not performed well. In January, South Africa won the series 4-1 against Australia. New Zealand take a 2-0 lead in the 5 match series. The Australian batting was not at its best today as they only scored 225 on the board in the alloted 50 overs.

The New Zealand chase did not start that well as Guptill (8) went 4th over. But then McCullum (43), Fulton (21) played well in the middle and scored 104-3 in 27th over. Ross Taylor batted brilliantly for his 47 and gone at 42nd over with scored 176-4.

But towards the end it was Elliott (61*) who stayed there till the end and ensured the victory for his side. He was given company by Broom (26*) in the final overs and they won the game in the 49th over. New Zealand have done it here, they have won this 2nd ODI by 6 wickets.

The game did go till the end but the New Zealand middle order showed some great resistance at the wicket and they sealed this victory for their side.Australia's consecutive fifth defeat. Michael Clarke was the standout performer for Australia today as he played a patient knock of 98. He was awarded the Man of the Match award.
