Federer crushes Del Porto; Reaches Semis

It was the day which witnessed great player showing off his superior skills and defeating Del Porto by a scoreline of 6-3 6-0 6-0 in only 80 minutes. Yes, it was no other than the former champion Roger Federer. Just a couple of days back, he fought and came from behind to win over Berdych and today he showed no mercy at all. This is obvious when we can see that the final set lasted only for 19 minutes !

After the match, Federer commented, ""I was really happy the way I came out and played. I kind of felt good from the start. The longer the match went, the more he struggled and the better I got. Yeah, the difference was big in the end. So it was so surprising the way to have that kind of a score in the quarters of a Slam, especially having so many great players around at this stage of the competition."

Federer will now play with American Andy Roddick in a classic semifinal clash - a player he has beaten 11 times out of their last 12 meetings, including the semifinals here two years ago.
