Hussain backs Flower as coach

Former skipper Nasser Hussain said, "The biggest complement I can pay him is that, if I was England captain now, I'd like him to be the coach."

"He has developed a working relationship with Andrew Strauss and with Geoff Miller and I wouldn't want to undo that."

He added, "He's discreet, honourable and tough - after all, as a Zimbabwean, he's taken on tougher people than a team of England cricketers."

He said "I'm a big fan of Strauss, his overall captaincy was excellent, and he led from the front."

"We can't have a situation where in the middle of the Ashes, just as it's getting crucial, he breaks down."
