J&K Minister felicitates Wadoo on his selection in Asia II

Srinagar/Jammu, December 31 (Scoop News) - The Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Technical education, R. S. Chib has felicitated Mehraj-ud-Din Wadoo for his prestigious selection in Asian-II in Qatar. He said "it is a great honour for J&K State that a brilliant and renowned footballer of the State has been selected for Asian-II". His selection has proved that J&K has huge treasure of talent and reservoir sports personalities capable enough bring laurels for the State and make it proud in the country, he added.

Chib said that this news is a real gift to people of State particularly sports fraternity on the arrival of 2011 The footballer's selection in such a big international sports event has brought cheers to the citizens of the State on the eve of new year, he maintained.

The executive committee of J&K Scouts and Guides Association of All India Boys Scouts also has expressed its happiness over the selection of Mehraj-ud-Din Wadoo in Asia-II.

In a meeting chaired by Chief Commissioner All India Boys Scouts J&K Chapter, Khawja Farooq Renzu Shah, it was observed with satisfaction that the ace footballer has brought international prestige to the sports fraternity of the State. Wadoo has always participated in scouts activities apart from his original field of football. J&K Scouts has always honoured this proud son of the soil.

The meeting observed that the present good news for J&K State is eye opener for those who were not giving heed towards real talents of Kashmir valley. In various Scouts activities for young boys and girls, All India Scouts has been always laying emphasis that education is as important for new generation as sports and scouts activities.

When on one hand Shah Faisal made J&K State proud by securing top position in IAS, on the other hand with the arrival of 2011 the breaking news of selection of Wadoo in Asian-11 has the similar connotation for new generation of the State.

All India Scouts, J&K Chapter has decided to honour Wadoo with 2011 Lion award for his prestigious sports feat in football.
