Kalaw lifts Al Iman over Radicon; Laith Sports Center-SAAD Animo Stuns Abdulla Fouad

Dammam, Saudi Arabia – The energetic Al Iman Gasket Company team looked to their reliable player to give them a spark at the onset of the game and engineered a late rally that pushed them into the winning column past the Radicon Gulf Consult team 58-42 on Friday afternoon at the Eastern Province Basketball League here.

Al Falak System Solution and Consulting together with Al Enaizi Enterprises are the major sponsors of the Advisors Cup supported by Abdulla Fouad, Hoshan Office Automation, R. V. Personnel, Inc., Phuket Restaurant and Cecile’s Catering with the cooperation of The Filipino Channel (TFC).

James Kalaw, asserted himself early making 10 of his 22 points and three rebounds in the opening quarter and the gasket makers continued their prolific run against the consultants with a sizable 32-16 lead at the half.

The consultants never threatened Al Iman in the entire game despite the presence of Saudi sensation Ali Mustafa who grabed only four points and three rebounds. They came out flat and struggled the entire game, committing 13 turnovers against only four for Al Iman.

The gasket makers ended a well-balanced job with Marwin Musa, Jeffrey Pangan, Pines Ampong and Edralin Paraiso who combined for 32 points to help Al Iman with the victory. Only Rodel Lopez of Radicon scored a double-digit output with 13 points. Reghis Mostajo and Ted Cari-ann had nine and six points, respectively, for the consultants in their loss.

In another game, Laith Sports Center “Animo” team earned their second win in as many outings walloping Abdulla Fouad via an 81-40 victory.

The Animo team came out strong and sustained tremendous intensity and energy almost throughout for the big rout signaling them as one of the title contenders in Inter-Company Division B.

Coach Darwin Ronquillo and his boys were all business as his team led by 25 points at the half 43-18 and 34 points 68-34 at the end of three quarters.

Things were so bad for Abdulla Fouad in the first half as they  committed 20 turnovers, from which Animo produced 18 points.

Charlie “Papa” Bioca had a game high 35 points, Joselito Tapiru had 10, Hermie Collado had nine points and Roger Sison added eight points for the Animo team. Juanito Fernandez led Abdulla Fouad with 13 points; Charlie Cabantog had six points and Bobbie Vasquez five points.
