Kallis calm as third Test looms

"I think he (Prince) had his reasons and his views why he didn't want the captaincy," said Jacques Kallis.

"Obviously he was offered it first and he turned that down and then they phoned me and said would I do it for the one Test match.

"Certainly there's no issue there. We've had a chat and there's no problem. The guys respect his point of view.

"There hasn't been any tension around the camp. The guys get on pretty well with each other so I think that has pretty much blown over, been blown out of proportion."

He continued: "I've always said that to be an all-rounder and captain is probably the hardest job in the world.

"That's why I don't think there are too many who do it. Fortunately I've got Mark Boucher next to me, I've got Hashim Amla, guys who have played quite a few Tests now and they have captained before.

"I'm the type of captain who pretty much lets the team make the decisions. Obviously there are times when I have got to make a decision. But it is a tough job."

He added: "The whole summer I've felt in really good nick.

"But I've been getting 30s, 40s and 50s. But I got a 90 in the last game so I'm there or thereabouts and I just need to kick on to get the big one."
