Yankee sluggers Curtis Granderson (8) and Mark Teixeira (7) homered for the home team as the Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-2. Granderson hit a three run shot and Teixeira a solo home run. Jorge Posada had a double to break out of his 0-19 slump.
Ivan Nova (2-2) started for New York and gets the win going 6.1 innings giving up two runs on six hits, walking four with five strikeouts. Mariano Rivera notched his tenth save of the year.
Jesse Litsch started for Toronto and gets the loss he is now 2-2. Adam Lind hit his fifth homer for the season.
The New York Yankees are 16-9 and Toronto is 13-15.
Ozzie Guillen was back at work after a two game suspension for tweeting about an umpire. The White Sox manager was back in action but his team took another loss as Baltimore won 6-4.
Rookie Zach Britton now sports a 5-1 record with the win. Britton pitched a one run, five hit, strong six innings for the Orioles. Kevin Gregg recorded his fifth save.
The Baltimore offense scored six runs on eight hits that included two home runs. Luke Scott delivered his fifth and Mark Reynolds his third home run of the year. Nick Markakis had a three run double to help the Orioles in the win.
