Six wins in a row and eleven on the season for Roy Halladay as he and the Phillies beat the Blue Jays 5-3. Halladay is 6-0 in his last nine starts, all wins for Philadelphia with a 2.81 ERA. Halladay is now 11-3 and the Phillies are 53-31 this season.
Halladay took the mound in Toronto where he played for twelve years before being traded to Philadelphia in December 2009. Nine innings later he had the win in his fifth complete game of the year. Halladay gave up three runs on eight hits with a walk and eight K's.
Chase Utley collected two RBI with his fourth homer of the year. Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins and Carlos Ruiz each had two hits as the bats stayed hot for the second game in a row.
Carlos Villanueva started for the Blue Jays and went 6.2 innings. He gave up three runs on five hits, walking four, with three K's. Luis Perez gets the loss in one inning of relief giving up a run on three hits.
Jose Bautista hit his league leading 26th home run for Toronto.
The Blue Jays are now 40-44 and have lost ten of their last thirteen home games. They will try to avoid the sweep on Sunday going against a red hot Cliff Lee, they will counter with Jo-Jo Reyes.
