THURSDAY QUICK HITS
ATLANTA BRAVES @ PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES-- FRIDAY
Atlanta finished Colorado with another win and head for Philadelphia for their next series starting on Friday.
The Braves have been keeping pace with the Phillies the past few weeks and have a chance this weekend to take the lead in the National League East.
Atlanta has been hot and today completed a four game sweep of the Colorado Rockies winning by a score of 6-3. The Braves have won nine of ten and fourteen of seventeen. To top it all, Atlanta has the best record in the majors, 23-10 since the first of June.
The first game in Philadelphia will start with Roy Halladay on the mound who will try to slow down and stop the Braves surge.
Looking forward to a great series. The Braves sport a record of 53-36. The Phillies have the best record in baseball at 55-33. We will see Sunday night if the results of the three game series have increased the Philadelphia lead, or if in fact the Braves can have the better record in baseball.
