Cole Hamels was looking for his thirteenth win but was out gunned by Matt Cain of the Giants. Both pitchers were firing with all they had but the Giants came out on top by a score of 2-1. Cain went seven innings allowing no runs on four hits, one walk and one K. Cole Hamels went 7.2 innings allowing two runs on six hits, walking one with six K's. Matt Cain (9-6) gets the win with Javier Lopez helping in relief, pitching a perfect eighth and Brian Wilson gets save number 32 pitching a perfect ninth.
 

Aaron Rowand and Nate Schierholtz each provided the Giants with one RBI. Domonic Brown had the only RBI for the Phillies.

It was a game you would expect from two teams with strong pitching. The Phillies record is now 65-38 and the Giants hit the 60 win mark and are now 60-44. Game three is Thursday, the series tied at one game each.
