PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ COLORADO ROCKIES

The Phillies started their series against the Rockies in Colorado with Cole Hamels on the mound. Colorado jumped on Cole in the second inning with a two run homer by Seth Smith but that was all they would score against him. Cole went six innings allowing the two runs on six hits walking one with five K's.
 

 

On the mound for Colorado was Jhoulys Chacin. He went 7.1 innings giving up only one run on six hits with two walks and two K's.

The Phillies ended up playing from behind until the ninth when the were down two runs and down to their last out. John Mayberry Jr. was at bat and Carlos Ruiz was on second after hitting a double. The count was full and Mayberry nailed a slider to the bleachers in left field to tie the game. It was his seventh homer of the year and
his first pinch-homer of the year, the third of his career.
 

In the tenth inning it was Shane Victorino hitting a solo home run to give the Phillies the win and their 29th come from behind victory of this season.
That is four wins in a row and second win in ten innings in a row for Philadelphia. The Phillies win their first game of a ten game road trip and improve to thirty games over .500.

Antonio Bastardo is now 5-0 and gets the win for Philadelphia. Rex Brothers gets the loss for the Rockies and is now 1-2.

Philadelphia is one win away from 70 at 69-39. The Rockies are 51-58.
