WEDNESDAY QUICK HITS
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ COLORADO ROCKIES
The Phillies-Rockies series in Colorado is over and the Phillies won game three to complete the sweep. This was the first time this season that the Rockies got swept at home. This was also the Phillies sixth straight win.
Roy Halladay worked hard for this victory, his fourteenth of the year and most in the National League. Roy went seven innings allowing five runs on eight hits, walking one with seven K's. Antonio Bastardo gave up one run in the eighth and Brad Lidge pitched a perfect ninth for his first save of 2011. Halladay gets the
win a has a record of 14-4.
Ryan Howard had another great day at bat going two for four with four RBI. This after striking out with the bases loaded and no outs in the first inning. Ryan also had a double error to make him feel a little worse. Not to worry, he made up for it all later in the game. Ryan had two home runs the night before and nailed one more in today's game. Everyone in the lineup with an at bat, had a hit today for Philadelphia. They scored eight runs on twelve hits with only three for extra bases. Howard now has 24 home runs and 87 RBI.
Jason Hammel (6-11) got the start and loss for Colorado. He went five innings and gave up six runs on eight hits, walked four, with four K's. Todd Helton homered for the Rockies.
Philadelphia is in the middle of a twenty game, no day off run and are currently 10-3. Next stop, a four game series with the Giants. The Phillies are now 71-39. The Rockies are nine games under .500 at 51-60.
