CONGRATULATIONS JIM THOME 600 CAREER HOME RUNS!

The Minnesota Twins were in Detroit and Jim Thome was two homers from the 600  mark at the start of the game. Thome nailed number 599 in the sixth inning, a two run shot off of Detroit's Rick Porcello. In the seventh inning it was number 600, this time a three run shot off of pitcher Daniel Schlereth. Thome is only the eighth player in history to reach 600 home runs in their career.

Many people say he is the nicest player in baseball, pretty high praise for a man who  has been in the game over twenty years, a lot can happen in that span of time.
In an interview after the game he was very happy and thankful that his family was there to see it happen. He also had everything good to say about Phillies manager Charlie Manuel who back in the day had a great influence on him.
 

Minnesota wins the game 9-6, Jim Thome wins the day!
