Qadir keeps door open for Shoaib

"I've no knowledge of Shoaib's physical condition," said Pakistan's chief selector Abdul Qadir.

"But I have a good deal of respect for him. He is a great fast bowler and deserves to be treated with respect.

"We will consider every player for national duty as long as he can contribute to the team cause. I will have a chat with him soon and will hear what he has say on his fitness and injury."

"Doctors have advised me that the blood and pieces of bones in my knee can be removed through injections and there won't be any need for an operation," Shoaib said.

"I had sent MRI reports to Australia and England, and I have been advised against an operation. So I hope to be back in action by next month."
