Sports a priority with the Govt.: Taj

 Baramulla/Srinagar, October 6 (Scoop News) -   Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control,  Taj Mohi ud Din today asserted that promotion of sports in the State is on the agenda of the Government and efforts are being made to strengthen sports infrastructure all across the state.

Addressing the concluding function of the North Kashmir Sports Festival, organized by J&K Police, here this evening, the Minister said stadia and sports fields are being developed at district, tehsil and panchayat  levels laced with equipment as well as the requisite facilities.

The Minister said sports inculcate discipline, dedication and team work among youth adding it shapes up the overall persona of young minds. He appealed youth not to fall prey to anti social elements instead take active part in sports activities.

The month long sports festival attracted some 25 teams, which competed in several disciplines like cricket, volley ball, football etc.

Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the winning teams and players.
