Amanda Hamm Released After Five Years for Killing Children

In 2006, Amanda Hamm was found guilty of child endangerment for her role in a staged accident that resulted in the death of her three children. This week, only two years later, she is out of prison on parole.

Amanda Hamm and her boyfriend, Maurice Lagrone Jr., purposefully sank their car in Illinois' Central Lake with Hamm's three children, aged 6, 3 and 23 months, inside. Official's believe that Lagrone created the plan and was the main perpetrator but that Amanda Hamm went along with the plan. Prosecutors say that their reason for drowning the children was that they got in the way of their relationship. Maurice Lagrone is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the crime.
