Blue Mountain Bigfoot Update: Manslaughter Investigation At Black Snake

Near Black Snake Ridge- South-East of Dixie Washington: Any Bigfoot research in the Black Snake Ridge area may be temporarily on hold due to a death occurring over the weekend at a campsite on Black Snake Road. Robert L.Nelson, 55, of 2815 E, Melrose #233 was booked into the Walla Walla County jail on 1st degree manslaughter charges after turning himself in early Saturday morning for shooting his Kennewick friend, Ken Brooks, 38, in the chest at the campsite the two were sharing. Alcohol was an apparent factor in the slaying. Nelson, who called police after he realized that he was at home and his pick-up truck and dog were missing, wept while he was being interviewed.

Nelson was covered in blood when the police arrived shortly after the 4:30 am call from Nelson’s home. Nelson then escorted police to the site where Brooks was found fatally shot in the chest. A .44 magnum pistol was found on the couch of Nelson’s home.

Nelson claims that the two were drinking and that he may have caused the death. Bail was set at $150,000 and the crime scene is blocked off as the investigation continues
