As the world watches, NASA mission control is ready to guide in STS-125, the mission of the Atlantis shuttle to update the Hubble Telescope. 

This is a critical moment, as it was during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere that NASA lost contact with Columbia in 2004, which was destroyed by the heat of the maneuver.
