Montauk Monster (or Turtle Without Shell) Making Headlines

A mysterious creature has washed ashore at Montauk in the easternmost part of Long Island, New York. A photo circulating around the internet shows a strange, half pig, half turtle creature lying dead on the beach sand.
Some think that the Montauk Monster is a mutated result of animal testing at nearby Plum Island where U.S. Department of Agriculture admittedly has done animal testing.
The Montauk Monster looks like a pig with the head of a turtle and front flippers. Could it be a turtle without its shell?
Some of the user comments on Gawker.com, the Web site that broke the story, read "It's obviously a griffin," "I smell a beach cookout" and "THIS.WILL.HAUNT.MY.DREAMS."

Rating: No Ratingthis is a turtle who had been burnt out of it's shell by poachers. dont be so daft to think its a monster or a griffin. its human cruelty
Rating: No RatingFrom the pictures displayed of this creature, it looks as if this one isn't fully matured. If this is the case, then my question is where is the mother and how big is it?
Rating: No RatingIt is an experimental mutant from Plum Island. That is why it has the bandage on it's right wrist. It was euthanized and then thrown into the ocean by mistake. It was headed for the incinerater but a disgruntled employee took a short cut and just threw it into the sea.
