Officer Clubs Woman on Bike at G20 Protests: Video

PITTSBURGH -- Police officers clubbed a woman and knocked her to the ground today amid protests at the G20 summit taking place in Pittsburgh. The entire incident was broadcast live on television.

In the video, shown below, the young woman is jostled harshly twice  by officers before she appears to "break," turning and throwing her bicycle at the police officer behind her.

Immediately, the cop strikes her with his billy club, and another throws her to the ground.  After she hits to ground, she curls up as if to protect herself, then is dragged away and handcuffed.

The violence of the officers toward the slight young woman is jarring, with some calling it police brutality. Others emphasize that her action was an assault on a police officer.
