Stevens-Henager College Honored by American Red Cross
Stevens-Henager College announced today that it will be recognized as a 2011 American Red Cross Hero on Friday, August 12. The recognition will coincide with the college’s $800 donation to the American Red Cross. The donated funds were raised by Stevens-Henager College students and staff and will help fund disaster relief efforts.
“Donations such as the one from Stevens-Henager College are vital to the Red Cross being able to provide emergency response services in Idaho. With support from organizations such as SHC, we can continue in our life-saving mission,” said Chris Davis, development director at American Red Cross of Greater Idaho.

At “Hero Appreciation Day,” students and other attendees nominated their own heroes and recorded video messages about their nominees, which were played at the event. The Stevens-Henager College donation was among the top five highest donations for the Red Cross Hero campaign.
“We are proud to support the American Red Cross and the good work they do locally, as well as throughout the country and world. At Stevens-Henager College, we are committed to helping our students not only prepare themselves for better career opportunities, but also become invested members of our community. Supporting local nonprofits like the American Red Cross helps accomplish that mission,” said Shane Reeder, regional director of Stevens-Henager College, Idaho.
Stevens-Henager College has locations in Boise (main campus), Idaho Falls (a branch of CollegeAmerica Flagstaff), and Nampa (a satellite of Boise), which offer business, graphic arts, healthcare, and information technology degree programs. The college also has a College Education Center in Mountain Home that provides support to students enrolled in the online programs offered by Stevens-Henager’s Salt Lake City/Murray campus in Utah. Approximately 650 students in the state of Idaho are enrolled in one of the college’s degree programs.
