20 thousand kannals of land restored in Kashmir

The Divisional Commissioner was informed that 2515 in Anantnag, 2300 in Pulwama, 1147 in Ganderbal, 5444 in Bandipora, 3663 in Budgam, 4242 in Kupwara and 1619 kannals of land in Kulgam has been restored from the illegal encroachments while the work in other districts is in progress.
The meeting discussed issues relating to encroachments on Kahcharai, Jamahbandis, Girdawaris, progress of settlement work, revenue realised during this fiscal, construction of new Patwar Khanas and record rooms, steps taken for protection of temple property, computerisation of land records etc. In addition, the compensation paid to be victims of natural calamities, flash flood and the restoration of damaged structure etc.
The Divisional Commissioner asked all the Deputy Commissioners to expedite their work on removing the encroachment of Kahcharai. He also directed them for frequent visits to their respective areas especially far flung area and redress the grievances of the common people on spot.
The meeting was further said that record room in Devsar has been completed, while the work on other under construction record rooms would be completed next year. The meeting was further told that under construction work on the record rooms of Chrar-i-Sharief, Gurez, Kokernag, Lar and Pampore is under progress. The meeting was also informed that under construction Nayabat offices at Preng-Ganderbal, Surisyar-Budgam and Tulail-Gurez is going on.
The Divisional Commissioner issued instructions to all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure strictly implementation of the steps taken for the protection on the temple property.
The meeting was further informed that under extract fee Rs. 31.92 lakh, mutation Rs. 24.86 lakh, demarcation Rs. 1.96 lakh, brick kiln Rs. 1.58 lakh and under miscellaneous Rs. 50000 has been realized till date.
The meeting was also informed that work on the orphanage at Chandpora-Harwan will be completed at the end of the current month 2010, while the work on the other two orphan homes coming up at Rahban-Sopore and Patalbagh-Pulwama is under progress.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon all the Deputy Commissioner to complete all the projects within the stipulated time so that the people may get benefited by these projects.
