A/H1N1 in Myanmar
In Myanmar, there was a suspected case of A/H1N1 on 22 June 09, in Yangon.
Then an established case found on 27June09 at a 13 year old girl, who came back from Singapore. The government said that they could do necessary things to controll spread.
But wonderful event is that the price of mask (surgical mask) rises about 10 times after announcement of government. The government announced that all school children have to wear masks.
The original price of one piece of mask is K.35 and become K.400 on that condition. And masks have been sold by sellers on truck-car on roads infront of schools 23 June09 onwards.
In Myanmar most of the people have to use public phones and passengers' bus. People are afraid of getting A/H1N1 infection from contaminated public phones and on bus.
Many say that government must subsidise masks for every household and for all school childen.
Second established case of A/H1N1 has been found on a 20 years old male patient came back from Singapore and well eradicated by health nteam of yanmar.
Then another third and fouth patients with established diagnosis of A/H1N1 found and they both have been travelled from Thailand come back by air flight, Thai Airways, TG 305 on July 12. One of them is a male of 51 years old. And another is 22 years old female They both are passengers of TG30, July12..
One wonderful thing is that Minister U Aung Thoung, Ministry of Industry (1) has been suffered from fever and sore thraot after coming back from Singapore but the Minister refused to make check-up for A/H1N1. It is the most popular joke here.
