Armed Police hosts Bara Khana for wrestling cluster participants



Jammu, March 7 (Scoop News) - On the conclusion of mega National Level Sports event organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police, a grand dinner (Bara Khana) was hosted for the participating players and accompanying delegates at Armed Police Complex Channi here this evening.


The Director General of Police (DGP),  Kuldeep Khoda was the Chief Guest at the Bara Khana-cum-cultural evening, which was hosted by State Armed Police. During the 5-day long All India Police Wrestling Cluster 2010-11, more than 1550 players from across the country participated in various disciplines viz. weightlifting, wrestling, judo, gymnastic and boxing.


On the occasion, different popular dishes of various states were prepared and the guests shared the dishes with each other.  Khoda along with the Additional Directors General of Police,  K. Rajendra Kumar,  Ram Lubhaya and  Gopal Reddy visited all the stalls and tasted the dishes displayed for the guests.


During the interaction with the players and managers,  Khoda lauded the sportsmanship which they displayed during the championship. He appreciated the discipline and decorum maintained by them during the event. He hoped that the players and staff members will take the sweet memories of the tournament along and share these with their fellow citizens in their respective areas. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police organizes many sports events in the State for the promotion of sports and to encourage talented sports persons at different levels. Sports personnel of JKP have proved their talent and have represented the nation and the state at various national and international tournament and brought laurels for the State.


Additional Director General of Police, Armed/Law & Order,  K. Rajendra Kumar, who was also Organizing Secretary of the Championship thanked the Organizing Committee, Nodal Officers, Camp Commandants, Liaison Officers and all associated police personnel for their dedication and hard work which made the event a success. He also appreciated the coordination and high standards of comradeship shown by them during the tournament.
