Teenager disappearing on rise in J&K




The month which begins with the ‘Fools Day’ (April Fool) has created fear psychosis among the parents in the state of Jammu and Kashmir as till date, 11 children have been reported gone missing across the state. Still 12 days are left to complete this month, and as the children are disappearing, the number ‘may increase’ which can not be ruled out.


No one, neither police nor parents know, where these children have gone. Have they absconded from home or have been kidnapped. no one knows. Whatever might be the reason behind, but the parents across the state who came to know about the missing of these children are in fear psychosis and unable to understand where these children might have gone.


According to reports, daughter and son of one Kalu R/o Dhar Seen Thakran namely Arifa Begum (14 years) and Chiru (3 years) have reportedly missing since 13-04-2009. Another minor boy namely Shri Kant (10 years) S/o Sonu Chowhan R/o Mirzapur Tehsil and district Gunj Bihar presently at Bhagwati Nagar Jammu has reportedly been missing since 13-04-2009 from Canal Road Jammu.


Meanwhile, one minor boy namely Irfan Hussain S/o Gulzar Ahmed R/o Lar Tehsil Mahore district Reasi presently residing at Prem Nagar Jammu has reportedly been missing since   06-04-2009. The age of the boy is 12 years.


Meanwhile, three teenaged girls have reportedly been missing from their respective residence in Jammu region. They have been identified as Neha (18 years) D/o Avtar Singh R/o Chack Jawahar Singh under the jurisdiction of PS Bishnah since 17-04-2009 from her home, Pooja Devi (17 years) D/o Dawarka Nath R/o Romain Tehsil Ramnagar   since 14-04-2009 and Neha Ganjoo (17 years) D/o Kewal Krishan R/o Anand Vihar Bohri Jammu since 17-04-2009.


Meanwhile, a boy namely Balwant Bhagat (24 years) S/o Surjeet Bhagat R/o Ahadwa, Ramban presently residing at Raika Bagh-e-Bahu has reportedly been missing since 15-04-2009 from Raika Bagh-e-Bahu.


Not only in Jammu region, reports from Kashmir reaching here said that two young girls and their bother have gone missing from their home at Dewanbagh in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district since the last one week forcing their parents to lodge a missing complaint with the police. Reports said that the three children identified as Rukhsana (13), Neelofar (6) and Ashiq Ahmad (4) were putting with their grandparents as their father Altaf Ahmad Sheikh and mother had gone to Jammu.


Reports said that on Sunday last, the three left their home to fetch some sweets from the market, however, did not returned.


They were searched for two days but can’t be traced. They reportedly used to go to the market all alone but on Sunday last they disappeared.


However, police has taken cognizance and efforts are in progress in respective areas to trace the missing children out.
