On April 22, Christopher Swain leapt into Marblehead Harbor on Boston's North Shore to begin a 1000 mile swim for the environment that will end in the Potomac River at Washington DC in about 18 months.
He is the first man to swim the length of the Hudson and Charles Rivers, and Lake Champlain - his previous swims to highlight the degradation of American water ways.
