Devote best service for environment protection: CM to IFS PO
Jammu, March 16 (Scoop News) – The probationers of Indian Forest Service (IFS) allotted to Jammu and Kashmir State today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and interacted with him discussing various matters pertaining to their service and personal aspects.

Omar Abdullah said his government has flagged this aspect as one of the most important concerns in development policy. He said various measures have been initiated to restore degraded forests and bring parched forest areas under vegetation. He said massive awareness campaign to encourage protection of forests and environment is integral part of the forests development programme in the State. The government is also involving people in afforestation drives and taking measures to restrict unnecessary felling of trees in the forest areas. He said special schemes for preservation of water bodies and tourist areas are also in place.
“While rendering your service in the State you have to focus attention on this aspect to help protect and preserve State’s environment and forest wealth”, he said and wished them success.
