Dogra culture & its identity at the verge of extinction:BJP
Manhas was addressing the gathering at its mass awareness campaign launched under ' Jan Sammelans' covering different areas under Jammu Municipal Corporation, held in Mohalla Narainian of Ward No 9. He was also was the chief guest on the occasion.
Manhas further said that with the passing of time, people are moving away from their roots of Dogra culture and rich values, which is indeed a matter of grave concern. The new generation is fast adopting western culture and forgetting their past of being the future of brave Dogras who made supreme sacrifices for preservation of Dogra culture and honour of Dogras.
He said that forming of mini government through holding regular elections to the municipal corporations, committees and councils can play a very important role in encouraging and preserving centuries old culture. Today the poilitical elite too has diluted the local culture and its importance in life. While for other political parties only elections can be sole target but for BJP it is important to ensure making the democracy flourish at every level and make people part in the decision making bodies. For parties like NC and PDP, their survival is only focussed on giving misleading slogans like autonomy and self rule. For Congress, it do not matter with whom to be coalition partner as only one point agenda of this national party has all along been to remain in power. It is the BJP only which has continuously agitated and made sarifices not just for chair but to strengthen nationalist forces and defeat challenges posed to the unity and integerity of the country.
Manhas said that the people of
State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A.) said how serious the present NC-Congress coalition has been towards development and welfare of masses can be well judged from the reports that it failed to utilize rupees 66oo crores drawn from the centre in the just concluded financial year. It should leave no one in any doubt that this dispensation leads in making hollow claims of development but in reality it lacks will for the same.
Former JMC Mayor Kavinder Gupta said that
State Spokesperson Ramesh ASrora said that whenever local bodies elections are held people should reach polling booths in large numbers and utilise the long awaited opportunity to return people-centric candidates so that they do not have to regret for next five years again.
