Frequent power cuts agony citizen



Jammu:  The day darbar shifted from winter capital, people started feeling heat not only due to rise in mercury but also due to unprecedented unscheduled power cuts. Commoners could only curse their fate for being habitants of this region, as during hot season both darbar and inflow of money attains almost stand still.    

Representatives of the people are already equipped with air conditions and alternative electric systems. So it become beyond the imagination for elected leaders to talk for their voters or to raise voice for their fundamental rights. Corporators have lost right to speak as elections for corporations has yet to be conducted. In such bizarre situation commoners are left at mercy of all might as power development department is helpless in providing uninterrupted power supply due to certain technical reasons, power loss and power theft.


“It is not for the first time, we are facing power cuts after every half an hour or so. But soon after darbar shifts to Kashmir, power cuts are routine matter” Kanta Devi a senior citizen said. She added that it appears that all the facilities in state are purely for secretariat employees and ministers. All other citizen are worthless seemingly, as even after paying regularly electric bills no body can guarantee regular supply of electricity, she added.


“I have instructed employees concerned to be active and check the difficulties before it occurs. Technically tripping may occur anytime but we are it. I am my self monitoring the situation and uninterrupted supply would be made available to citizen” Chief Engineer EM & R, Shanaz Goni said. She informed that in Janipur area 3 hours snap was due to repairing and the supply has has been restored already.
