Indian NSG, Police: Taj Operation is Complete, One Terrorist Caught Alive
Mumbai, Inida (GroundReport) - The latest Indian TV news reports say that the Taj Operation is over.
NDTV reports that the Indian National Security Gaurd have said that a final gunbattle at the Taj Mahl hotel, Mumbai between commandos and two terrorists is "more or less over."
Mumbai Police have also confirmed that the connter-terrorism efforts at the Taj are completed. This comes after a fire broke out in the Taj early morning on Saturday, at about 7:30 am local time. The fire appeared to have consume four rooms at the luxury hotel.
Firefighters are trying contained the fire, according to emerging reports.Ambulences are now parked in the front of the Taj, as the hotel continues to burn.
The unofficial death toll now stands at 160. A total of 40 terrorists were believed to have planned the Mumbai terror attacks that began Wednesday with 12 terrorists executing the plan. The operation at the Taj completes a long and arduous struggle against terrorists that seiged Mumbai for approximately 56 hours.
