J&K Govt. announces Rs. 24 lakh to 24 affected families of Chinkipora Sopore



            Sopore-Kashmir, March 02 (Scoop News) –Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State for PHE, Tourism, and Revenue, Nasir Aslam Wani and Minister of State for R&B, Javaid Ahmad Dar today announced Rs. 24 lakh relief for all 24 affected families at Rs. One lakh each for the construction of their houses besides they instructed the Forest department to provide timber to the affected families at the earliest. They also announced free ration for another month, more blankets for all affected souls and mattresses for them.  In addition that 48 durrets for flooring would also be provided to the affected families by Divisional Commissioner’s office, they said.


 


The Ministers today visited Sopore to ensure speedy rehabilitation of the militancy hit victims whose houses were gutted in a militancy related incident the other day in Chinkipora area of Sopore town. The Ministers met the victims and Auqaf Committee members of the area and interacted with them to listen their grievances and problems.


               They took stock of the relief measures already taken by the district administration and discussed other measures required for the speedy rehabilitation of the victims.


            MLA Sopore, Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Naseem Lankar, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla,  Bashir Ahmad Bhat, SP Sopore and district officers were accompanied with Ministers.


            On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner informed the Ministers that in all 14 residential houses were gutted in the incident in which 24 families were presently putting up in these houses. He said that for temporary rehabilitation of the affected families, various steps were taken by the district administration which includes provision of one Month free ration, kitchen sets, 14 tents and 72 blankets as immediate relief.


           


            Expressing grief and sorrow over the episode, the Ministers said that their visit to the town was purely on humanitarian grounds besides to take stock of the measures for providing immediate relief to the the affected families. They said that Chief Minister was very much eager to ensure the speedy rehabilitation of the victims and he has already instructed the administration to be quick in relief measures.


            He also ordered for conducting assessment of the partially damages structures in the vicinity and asked the R&B department to immediately carry out the necessary assessment of such buildings.
