JK BJP warns against mischief

Jammu, May 18 (Scoop News) – Raising serious objections to the tacit revival of Justice Sagheer Ahmed Committee report by resuming the sittings of the government appointed sub-committee, the BJP State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh has described it as a mischevious move deliberately timed with the submission of final part of Dileep Padgaonkar led Interlocutors’ report.This smacks of the Congress led UPA government’s connivance with the NC-Congress coalition government in the state to achieve the ulterior motive of reversing the status of Jammu and Kashmir state to pre-1953 position, he alleged.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu today Dr. Jitendra Singh warned that in no case will the BJP tolerate any such design that tends to weaken the relationship of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of Indian Union, either physically or psychologically. He said the BJP’s consistent stand has been full and complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the Union of India.
Referring to it as a dangerous conspiracy being hatched by New Delhi to facilitate the continuance of NC led government in the state through appeasement of separatists and through competetive upmanship over NC’s main rival PDP, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that BJP will not allow the sentiments of the nationalist sections to be taken for granted by power-mongering Congress and NC.
Dr. Singh alleged that even NC, which was spearheading campaign for pre-1953 status, is not sincere about it but is only playing politics of opportunism which is evident from the fact that in 1975 Sheikh Abdullah had himself accepted all the provisions including change of nomenclature from Sadar-e-Riyasat and Prime Minister to Governor and Chief Minister respectively because at that time he was in a hurry to regain power under the Indira-Sheikh accord.
Dr. Jitendra Singh warned of a dangerous contrywide reaction in case there was any attempt to reverse the hands of clock in Jammu & Kashmir. He reiterated that BJP is the only truly secular party in the country whereas both Congress and NC were given to politics of communalism as had been abundantly proved by recent decisions over curtailment of Amarnath Yatra period and revocation of Dogra Certificate.
