JU students protest, burn CM’s effigy

Jammu and Kashmir: Students Scholars Joint Action Committee (SSJAC) staged strong protest in Jammu University and burnt effigy of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not paying heed to problems of being faced by student. Protestors ask for immediate suspension of the Deepanker Sen Gupta OSD to Controller, who slapped a student during pre Ph.D Exam of the Buddhists Studies and used abuse language against him. SSJAC leaders alleged that Prof Deepanker Gupta became Professor by flouting norms of JU and urged upon the Governor to initiate an inquiry regarding his undue promotion during the regime of VC Prof. Amitabh Mattoo.

Mohinder Pal Pandu said that Prof Deepanker made a very serious act of indiscipline which should be condemned seriously. He demanded immediate suspension of Prof. Deepanker. He informed that Prof. Deepnker slap a student on exam desk without any reason and later attacked with a sharp weapon on student, which is a criminal act. Other students who were appearing in the same examination try to pacify but Prof Deeapnker also abuse them and threatened them of consequence.

Lovejeet Singh who got the serious injury on shoulder with stitches and one on neck .SSJAC also ask the JU administration that how the Irfan Gony came into the examination centre without any permission SSJAC ask JU administration for action with in two days otherwise indefinite agitation will be started in JU.

Leaders claimed that examiner of Pre PhD exam Prof. V N Labh has also given in writing that Prof Deepanker makes a serious indiscipline in examination hall and slaps the students without any justification. Beside students who were appearing in the exam had already given a written complaint in DSW office of JU against Prof Deepanker Sen.
