KPs extend greetings to MoS PDD, refuses to pay power tariff
Jammu & Kashmir: Kashmir Hindus, usually called as Kashmiri Pandits (KPs), forced to exile by Islamic fundamentals in early nineties are still facing hardships in various parts of country on the account of fundamental rights. No homes to live in, no food to eat and no politico-economic power to strive for desired needs. Above all the miserable part of the situation for them is that dispensation of the day considers them at par with other sections of the society.
Ridiculing timid attitude of recently appointed MoS PDD, Vikar Rasool, S K Bhat (Murreian), Chairman All India KP Sangrash Samiti said that their community is not on India tour or out for an excursion to which MoS PDD is demanding electric tariff from exiled community members. He questioned that instead of extending sympathetic help to community members state government is torturing community on the pretext of electric bills and water bills. He advised the minister to refrain from such tricks otherwise community would not bear such provocative statements and would seek justice from highest institute of decision makers.
Commenting over statement of minister who stated on the floor of house that Jagti Tenement inmates Kashmiri migrants have an outstanding of Rs 6.92 crores and they will be provided adequate power supply only when the outstanding is cleared, S L Pandita Chairman Soan Kashmir Front and Jagti Tenements Association said that minister should have first known that migration of the Kashmiris from Valley is not as per will but as a result of failure of law and order situation there. They have lost homes and hearths and put to enormous economic and social losses due to migration, Pandita said adding that the condition of migrants is pitiable and they live on meager relief amount paid to them by government of India and then how could they be able to bear electric tariff.
Vikar has eye on Rs 6.92 crore allegedly outstanding on the part of migrants, but has failed to understand figures of outstanding of big guns and government establishments. Migrants of Jagti Camp will not pay any electric tariff and stand committed on it until they are rehabilitated in the valley with dignity and under secured and a safe place, Pandita said adding that it appears to be a part of deep conspiracy to keep on KP migrants harassed on one account or the other to compel them to even leave Jammu, which could prove very dangerous for te dispensation of the day.
“Migration is result of failure of law and order by state government to which centre is paying meager amount monthly from security related expenditure, does there ends the responsibility of state government?, asks Dr R L Razdhan a social activists. He asked that isn’t there any responsibility of state government towards community in exile? Is it out there to collect revenue alone from that pathetic community? Or is it a part of game plan of Kashmir centric politicians to appease their voters in valley by harassing the community in exile? Asked Dr Razdhan.
