Karachi wounded after blasts at Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine

Once again Karachi bathed in blood when more than 10 people were killed and 65 injured after couple of alleged suicide blasts at the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi today. The shrine is located at Sea View area of Clifton, not very far from Bilawal House.

The blasts came couple of days after Maulana Muhammad Ameen, Sheikh-ul-Hadith of Jamia Banoria SITE and ex-Ameer Karachi of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jamat (formerly Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan), was gunned down at SITE Karachi. Today Sunni Wahdat Council called for a "peaceful" strike during Maulana Ameen's funeral prayers and burial.

Interestingly, the blast occurred after media reports that security cameras installed across Karachi are not functioning.

Sunni Tehreek and ANP announced 3 days of mourning while MQM announced a day of mourning on Friday.

Media reports Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility of attack at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine.

As a reaction to the blasts, Sindh Interior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza ordered the closure of all shrines in Karachi. Wonder what he would do if god forbid a mosque gets attacked.
