Kohat Police Foiled Bid to Smuggle Weapons
A bid to smuggle large cache of arms to Baluchistan from tribal area of Dara Adam Khel was foiled by Kohat police on Tuesday.
According to press release issued by PRO Kohat police, in a pickup # PAA053 two accused smugglers, Inayatullah and Yaseen Khan, residents of Manzai district Taank, were heading towards Kohat from Dara Adam Khel with large cache of weapons in secret compartments of their pickup, while acting on tip off DPO Abdullah Khan had ordered formation of special investigation team headed by DSP Lal Farid, to arrest the smugglers.
During a vehicle check the men were stopped and searched by a police team near New Toll Plaza on Indus highway. Police found 20 Klashinkoves, five repeaters, four pistols, 8480 cartridges of different bores and other weapons in secrets compartments in a vehicle.
In initial investigations both accused persons have made important revelations about their interprovincial smugglers gang and have also disclosed the name of their boss. The weapons were destined towards Baluchistan to be used in destabilizing the province.
