Members of Orissa's assembly express concern over security threat to the great temples of Orissa

How safe are the great temples of Orissa from the ongoing terrorist activities throughout India?  This is the question, which has kept the MLAs in Orissa’s legislative assembly bothered for a long time. The members have demanded a reply about the status of security being maintained at present by the government. The great Sun temple of Konark and Jagannath temple of Puri feature prominently as the main places of tourists’ attraction from the globe. According to highly placed intelligence input, these two places have already got placed in the hit-list of various terrorist organizations.

 In a recent mock-drill by Police, a group of policemen posing as terrorists with fake bombs had entered the Jagganath temple of Puri without informing the security there but the present security set-up had failed to nab them.
