Nepal's Maoists seek unity among republican forces
While the Nepali Congress is seeking to create a new alliance with rightist and monarchist forces by resisting historical changes that brought the 240-year monarchy to an end, Maoist leadership is stressing on creating a republican alliance.Presenting a proposal at the party central committee meeting, Maoist Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal stressed on the unity and alliance of patriotic and republican forces to institutionalize federal democratic republic.
Maoist leader Deena Nath Sharm told media that the overwhelming majority in the party supported the chairman's proposal.
